Description

e-peas (acronym for Electronic Portable Energy Autonomous Systems) is a Belgian company founded in December 2014, headquartered in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), with offices in Switzerland and the United States. The result of 15 years of research at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCLouvain), it is a pioneer in the development of ultra-low-power semiconductors for ambient energy harvesting. Its portfolio includes power management circuits (PMICs/AEMs), microcontrollers, and sensor solutions capable of collecting energy from light, thermal, vibration, and RF sources. In 2024, e-peas raised €17.5 million to accelerate its development, with support from Otium Capital, KBC Focus Fund, and the European EIC Fund, among others.

The mission of e-peas

e-peas' mission is to eliminate dependence on disposable batteries by enabling connected electronic devices to operate autonomously and sustainably through ambient energy harvesting. By maximizing energy recovery and minimizing the consumption of all electronic components, its technologies drastically reduce maintenance costs, environmental impact, and electronic waste. e-peas aims to revolutionize the IoT ecosystem—smart homes, industry, healthcare, retail, wearables—by making energy autonomy the new standard for tomorrow's smart devices.
