Description

Space Applications Services is a European technology company delivering mission-critical systems for security and defence across space and ground domains. Based in Belgium and active for nearly four decades, the company develops software platforms, robotic system integrations and operational frameworks for complex missions.

A flagship domain is (semi-)autonomous explosive threat detection, where the company integrates unmanned ground and aerial systems, sensor fusion modules, edge processing and command-and-control (C2) software into coherent, deployable capabilities. Rather than conducting operations itself, Space Applications Services provides the interoperable building blocks that enable defence actors to manage, control and evolve their own systems with full technological sovereignty.

The Mission of Space Applications Services

In defence contexts, operational effectiveness depends not only on technology but on trained personnel, validated procedures and resilient system integration. Space Applications Services therefore combines system engineering with structured training and qualification frameworks derived from its long operational heritage in the space domain.

The company supports with deployable C2 platforms, robotic system integration, mission preparation tools and training environments that translate complex technologies into usable operational capability. By aligning technology, procedures and human factors, Space Applications Services contributes to readiness, safety and sustainable capability development in high-risk operational domains.
