Description

GovSat (operating under the brand name LuxGovSat S.A. ) is a Luxembourg-based company created through a 50/50 public-private partnership between the Government of Luxembourg and SES, one of the world's leading satellite operators. Founded to meet the growing need for secure satellite communications, it operates its first satellite, GovSat-1, from Luxembourg. GovSat-1 was launched in January 2018 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. A second satellite, GovSat-2, is currently under development (built by Thales Alenia Space) to increase available capacity.

GovSat's mission

GovSat's mission is to provide secure, reliable, and accessible satellite communication services exclusively for governments, defense institutions, and civil security organizations. Its services cover military operations, border surveillance, NATO, EU, and UN missions, as well as air-ground-sea communications in sensitive environments. The company uses anti-jamming technologies and protected frequencies to guarantee uninterrupted connections even in crisis zones.
