Description
Damen Naval - Securing our Seas
As the Netherlands’ naval original equipment manufacturer, Damen Naval has delivered more than 420 vessels to customers around the world, acting as designer, engineer, builder, integrator, and service provider throughout our ships’ lifecycle.
Founded in 1875 as Koninklijke Maatschappij De Schelde, the Royal Schelde yard has grown into Damen Naval, the dedicated naval division of Damen Shipyards Group. Today, it brings together the group’s naval activities in the Netherlands and abroad.
In its role as OEM integrator, Damen Naval works closely with suppliers to secure reliable procurement, drive innovation, and help sustain a strong and autonomous naval ecosystem. Its strength is anchored in the Dutch ‘Golden Triangle’ model, where industry, government, and research institutes work closely together to develop advanced capabilities for the Netherlands Ministry of Defence and the Royal Netherlands Navy.
Internationally, Damen Naval also leads major programmes for NATO and EU partners, including ASWF, a joint Dutch-Belgian programme for the development of next-generation Anti-Submarine Warfare frigates for the Royal Netherlands Navy and the Belgian Navy.
